Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site

Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site tells the rich story of Northeast Tennessee and the families who lived there. The site includes 45 acres, eleven historic buildings, the Tipton/Gifford/Simerly cemetery, a limestone cave, a natural spring, a buffalo trace, a nature trail, and the Penny McLaughlin Education and Museum Center with a permanent exhibit, introductory video, gift shop, educational spaces, library and archives. Stories from the Pumpkin Patch features storytellers from the Jonesborough International Story Tellers Guild sharing folklore, fall stories and family-friendly fables. Daylight activities include fall and Halloween crafts, themed face painting, exploration of the site’s limestone cave, a hayride around the grounds, hot apple cider from the George Haynes cabin, access to the historic Tipton-Haynes house, vendors and food trucks.
